Life is Too Short to Whine
There’re so many different types of cancers. It’s the first time I’ve heard of tongue cancer. Joan, just turned 20, is suffering from tongue cancer. It seems that her condition has just taken a turn for the worst. Her hopes of completing a uni degree has just been cut short.
Looking at myself, I’m so much more luckier than her. Yet, she is so strong in her battle even with the chemo and radiography. I’m still well enough abeit the flu and other little illnesses.
I may wail that I can’t get this or that. How about Joan? Someone who is so much younger than me has so much wisdom gathered just because of the cancer that she has been hit with. Her dreams cut short. Her medical bills running high because her mother had to quit in order to look after her. Her friends and alma mater have rallied for fund raising so as to lighten her parents’ financial woes. She is very lucky to have such friends who even took turns to accompany her everyday. This is to help her parents who are worn out.
I don’t know if she will eventually pull through. I just hope that she will despite the bleak outlook now. She has a long road to walk, complete her degree and get a job, perhaps start a family of her own after that.
Life is too short for me to whine and wail and complain. Yeah, me, a complain queen. I better start adjusting and reflecting.
